BTU110 Description

The Brisbane Trail Ultra® marathon is designed to be the ultimate trail running experience. The course is massive with 5562 meters of vertical gain and loss for the 110 km. The Brisbane Trail Ultra® marathon 110 km course follows single trails into virgin sub-tropical rainforests with jaw dropping views over the Samford Valley, Moreton Island, Glass House Mountains, Main Range National Park. The course is challenging. It is designed to prepare our entrants for the toughest events in Australia and abroad.

110km Solo Qualification

ONE OF THE BELOW RECORDED TRAINING RUNS OR RACE RESULTS

Distance – 42.2km training or event on trails;

  • BTU60 2019 Result

  • Time – Sub 5 hour road marathon; or

  • Time – Sub 10 Hour 50km Trail Running Event

  • Time – Sub 9 hour trail marathon; or

  • Time – 100km trail running event in under 28 hours

  • 1x Thermal Long Sleeve Top. Must be called “Thermal” not just a compression top.

  • 1x Thermal long sleeve pants.

  • 1x Waterproof Jacket with a hood, taped seams.

  • 1x Beanie, Balaclava or Buff.

  • 1x Full fingered “Thermal” gloves.

  • 1x Mobile Phone (Telstra Next G preferred)

  • 1x Compass (smart phone and watches are permitted as long as they still have battery on the finish line)

  • 1x Whistle

  • 1x Emergency Space Blanket

  • 3x Food Portions more than 300 calories

  • 6x Bandaids

  • 1x 2.5cm by 5m Strapping Tape.

  • 1x Compression Bandage minimum 10cm (This is larger than the TNF100 recommendations but it will save your life if you or your friend are bitten by a snake).

  • 1x Zip Lock Bag for personal rubbish

  • 1x High Visibility Vest that complies with the Australian Standards AS/NZS 4602:1999-D/N

  • Ability to carry 1.5L-2L of Fluid.

  • Topo Map of the area provided by Brisbane Trail Ultra in PDF Form saved on your phone or as a paper format in a map case.

  • Head Torch and Batteries and Spare Torch and batteries.

In the event of hypothermic conditions the following may be added to the mandatory gear list and may be required to be picked up at later check points leading into the night to prevent hypothermia*

Note: Although poles are not mandatory, poles may be requires for some competitors to aid with descending and ascending some of the steep descents. We suggest that Mount Nebo Public School be the Check Point that poles can be picked up at to help with the descent into Township Break.
