Brisbane Trail Ultra® April Reccy Run
If you’ve been on our socials you would have seen that we had an absolute ball at our April Reccy Run and BTU60, BTU110 Qualifier. Massive thank you to Red Bull Australia, Hammer Nutrition Australia, K2 Base Camp, La Sportiva Australia, Endurance Edge & Stretchfit. We set up a “checkpoint” at McAfees lookout stocked with Hammer Gels, Fizz, Bars, Heed, Bananas, Coconut Water, and of course Red Bull! K2 Base Camp dropped in in the morning to say hello and also to offer us gift vouchers! Thanks also to Endurance Edge and StretchFit for coming to the party, vouchers will be emailed to you soon. It wasn’t all fun we got serious and performed a sweat test to make sure all the runners were hydrating correctly too. This time we set off in two groups, a plus 10-hour BTU60 group, and a sub 10-hour BTU60 group. The former group set off ahead and the latter group caught them on Nebo Break before their second lap of Hell Hole! Some Runners jumped into the faster group and we feel this strategy worked well we may continue to do this at our June Camp.
Paige Penrose Signs Up for the BTU30
Spartan Trail World Championship®
We are stoked to have the young gun making the trip up north to the Brisbane Trail Ultra®, Spartan® Trail World Championship.
In her first time entering a trail race, Paige came first overall at the Australian Alpine Ascent 12km, and later that year was the 1st female at the Ultra-Trail Australia 11km race, and 1st female at the Tarawera 21km, and 1st female at the Takayna Ultra 22km event.
Paige followed up these early successes in 2021, finishing 1st female at Ultra-Trail Australia 22km, placing 1st female and 4th overall at Takayna 26km, and 1st female and 3rd overall at the National Skyrunning Championships 20km at Buffalo Stampede.
Paige will be lining up against Spanish Runner Sara Alonso Martinez 1st Place Transgrancanaria, BTU30 2nd place winner Monika Holmwood (ACT), 4th BTU30 Krystal Neumann (BNE), 2nd BTU60 Patrica McKibbon (ACT), and 5th Place Katie (BNE) Mackenzie. It’s going to be one amazing race!

We’re really excited and although we have attracted attention internationally through the Spartan Trail World Championship, we feel that this is now truly showing we are part of the international circuit.
