If you’ve been on holiday, you may have missed that a new event has been added to the Golden Trail National Series Australia, powered by Salomon AUS&NZ! The Coastal Assent. This is set on the stunning coastline of Merewether Newcastle: Race Director and BTU podium winner, Salomon Australia New Zealand athlete, Coach from Run Lab, Vlad Shatrov has teamed up with Sydney Marathon to reignite the race, especially for the GTNS.
We are super excited to welcome the stunning The Coastal Assent (TCA) to GTNS Australia. The edition of TCA means there is now an event in Victoria, Tassie, New South Wales and Queensland! Brisbane Trail Ultra is the MANDATORY FINAL of the series, which means the lineup for the BTU20 will be jammed with the speediest that Australia has on offer, all racing for the Four Golden Tickets,
The Four GTNS winners will receive a funded trip to the Golden Trail World Series final in EUROPE!
The lucky runners will be chosen from the following categories;
Male and Female Overall Age Winners
Male and Female under 23 Category Winners (Must be 22 years of for duration of 2024)
GTNS is an inclusive competition; anybody can participate, and we welcome runners from all sporting backgrounds and skill levels. This is your chance to try the sport out whilst lining up to race with the best in the world. So take the challenge, enter the BTU20 and get up close and personal with the superstars of Australian trail running! Here is the GTNS lineup;

As we prepare for our 6th race, the BTU team has been reflecting on how the event has changed over the past 5 years. We owe our success to the amazing volunteers who brave the conditions in the D’Aguilar National Park, Kangaroo Cliffs and Mt Coot-tha to care for our runners and also help create the PARTY Atmosphere at the Check Points and Finish Lines. We are extremely grateful for the running groups and individuals who support us.
